The Iranian territory on the three islands of Bomosa (Abu Musa), Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb has its roots in the Achaemenid, Parthian and Sassanid kingdoms.During this period, Iranian order and security prevailed throughout the Persian Gulf and its islands. Tourism, as one of the most dynamic economic activities of the present era, plays an important role in local sustainable development.The Persian Gulf, as one of the tourist attractions and a shining jewel for the sustainable development of the country, welcomes domestic and foreign tourists.Considering the main goal of income and attracting capital for the region, tourism plays a key strategic role in regional development in this region.The three Iranian islands of the Persian Gulf, with their high capabilities, can provide the grounds for environmental development.In general, the purpose of this research is to identify the natural, cultural and historical potentials of the islands of the three regions of the Persian Gulf and solutions are provided for future planning and development of tourism.The research method in this research is descriptive-analytical and survey type and library-documentary sources have been used.Also, the SWOT model has been used to better understand the concepts.The results obtained from this research show that the islands have significant potential for attracting high levels of tourism to advance the desired goals in this field.
